For staff to have the confidence in managing challenging difficult conversations, responding to advice and feedback to colleagues

This Good Autism Practice training has been designed to support all practitioners working directly with pupils on the autism spectrum to develop their practice. This is a chargeable session at a cost of £84 + VAT per person(for MAST subscribed schools). External bookings would come with a cost of £210 + VAT.

Ensuring ECTs feel confident in creating a positive environment which encourages positive behaviour and gain skills to deal with managing difficult behaviours in school. See Eventbrite link for full description. (5 sessions to attend). This is the third session.

To have a greater understanding of the theory underpinning both Makaton and Cued Articulation and will feel confident to implement ideas back in their settings. Please note this is not actual Makaton Signing Training.

Staff to feel supported in their work and confident in their ability to adapt their delivery of interventions to meet the specific needs of individual children and young people with social and emotional difficulties. Staff to feel able to overcome challenges that they face in their work through engaging in collaborative problem-solving.

We are offering a network group for problem-solving, ways forward, ideas and inspiration led by experienced MAST Family Learning Mentors and a Senior EP. This is also precluded by a Therapeutic Mentoring Support Group from 12pm - 1pm for any supervision that may be required.

2 x 3-hour sessions for staff who would like to develop a greater understanding of the needs of children with communication difficulties (understanding, processing, and talking) and the needs of children for whom language difficulties are their main barrier to learning, sometimes described as Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). The second session to be attended is 12th February, from 1pm - 4pm

This course will enable staff to develop an understanding of parental mental illness and the impact it can have on children. This will partly be facilitated through theory, alongside a sharing of case studies from our KidsTime workshop and experiencing some practical activities that we use with children.

To explore legislative processes and national guidance relating to the statutory and pre-statutory aspects of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) as underpinned by the Children and Families Act (2014). This session aims to explore the myths, facts and data that underpin national narratives around SEND and offer practical solutions for SENCos working directly in this context.

For staff to have a deeper understanding of shame, how it presents itself and impacts on young people. To develop an awareness and understanding on practical and relational strategies on how to support children and young people to recover from experiences of it.
