Frequently asked questions
How does advertising with you support local children?
Schools' Post is operated by Plymouth Learning Partnership (PLP), a not-for-profit Community Interest Company. Every penny of profit generated from your job adverts is reinvested directly into the Multi-Agency Support Team (MAST), which provides vital mental health, wellbeing, and therapy services to vulnerable children and families across Plymouth.
What types of roles can we advertise?
You can use Schools' Post for any vacancy within your school or trust. We regularly host adverts for headteachers, classroom teachers, teaching assistants, administrative staff, caretakers, and site managers.
How do candidates apply for the role?
Candidates apply directly to your school using your preferred method—whether that is a link to your own portal, an email address, or a downloadable application form. We do not act as a middleman, meaning you receive applications immediately and own all candidate data.
How quickly can our advert go live?
We know schools often need to move fast. Once you email us your advert details, our team will build your listing and send you a proof. We can typically get your role live on the platform on the exact same day you approve it.
Where will candidates see our job advert?
Your vacancy will be listed on the Schools' Post website, which receives over 10,000 visits from job hunters every month. It will also be sent out in our weekly e-newsletter to local candidates, and promoted through partner channels including Fish4Jobs and the Plymouth Herald for maximum South West exposure.
How much does it cost to advertise a vacancy?
We offer a clear, fixed-price model with no hidden fees, commission, or placement charges. A half-page advert costs £159, and a featured full-page advert is £259. There are no mandatory subscriptions or lengthy contracts.
How do I place an advert?
Simply ring the team on 01752 788076 or email schoolspost@plpcic.co.uk with your advert text in word format and we will do the rest. A proof will be sent to you before the advert “goes live”.
Can I extend the closing date on an advert I have posted?
Yes, as long as this is requested prior to the closing date, we can extend the closing date on Schools’ Post for you.
I need to make an amendment to an advert I have already posted, is this possible?
Yes, we can make instant amendments on The Schools’ Post website.
Where will my advert be advertised?
Adverts will remain on our website until the closing date (this can be amended if required).
How many potential candidates visit your site?
We are likely to be the largest online recruitment board for school staff in the South West. We have over 12,000 active users and over 10,000 website visitors every month. You advert will have a vast reach to the right candidates.
